She really wouldn't have thought it was possible, but Nyota Uhura, Chief Communications Officer, was sitting in the Medical Bay on Deck Twelve, bored out of her ever loving mind. One of the Ensigns was supposed to be tending to her, giving her the yearly check up that she had missed when they were all getting on the ship. Lieutenant Uhura had decided to get settled into her room first and had completely forgotten about the check up they all had to have. She supposed trying to get in after the crowd hadn't gone so well for her. Usually she was pretty good at remembering these things. Maybe their mission was just so exciting to her that she couldn't think straight (yeah, absolutely none of that had to do with the fact that her boyfriend lived a few doors down, not at all).
Some time during her check up the Ensign had been distracted by another situation, and since Nyota didn't really have anywhere else to be, she had decided to let the medical officer do what she needed to do. That wasn't sounding like the best idea now. She would have asked if someone else could do the exam, but everyone in the room looked busy. Probably filing away data on the computers. It was a large crew and Nyota guessed that they would have their work cut out for them for the first few weeks.
She would have asked if she could just go, but since she had forgotten the appointment in the first place that didn't seem like a good idea either. So instead she just sat there, waiting in her Starfleet uniform. She had the next shift, so she just wanted to get this damn exam out of the way. It didn't look like that was going to happen any time soon. She started twirling her hair around her finger. She'd put it in a high pony tail, anticipating a busy day, but really, they were still in charted territory so her job was more or less just contacting Starfleet. Nyota sighed and laid down on the medical bed with a plop. Might as well rest while she was here.

i thought you'd like that.
Kirk hadn’t forgotten about the medical examination. He’d just… chosen not to go do it. I mean, what was the point of being close friends with one of the head doctors if you couldn’t get out of a long, boring routine test every once in a while? He’d had one last year. He knew there was nothing wrong with him. (He was perfect. It was obvious.) He figured if he looked busy enough everyone else would forget and he would be off the hook. That, apparently, was not the case. So now he was dragging his feet to the medical bay like a kid on his way to detention. ”Cant you just—“ ”No.” ”But—“ ”No.” ”We’re not friends anymore.” he informed the guy, in his more serious voice. ”I’m devastated. Now do I need to watch you or can I go do my job?” ”Yes mom.” He rolled his eyes. ”Wait! If I find out that Spock has been sitting in my chair—“ He held up a finger. What? The guy had priorities. McCoy left to do god knows what and Kirk swung open the door, prepared for an hour of boredom. At least he’d get a chance to know his Ensigns better. They couldn’t all be boring. He scanned the room, looking for someone who wasn’t busy on a computer when he spotted Nyota on one of the beds. He grinned, sitting on the edge of it and laying down next to her. No, he didn’t need to ask permission before doing those things. It was Kirk. He made a bird sound, because what better way to get the woman's attention. ”Skipped your exam, Nyota?” he put a special emphasis on her name as he always had since actually finding out what it was, ”Tsk tsk. What kind of example are you setting?”

It was a good thing her shift didn't start for quite a few hours, because it looked as though Lieutenant Uhura was going to be in the Medical Bay for a rather long time. That didn't sound fun at all. It wasn't like she had a choice though. Might as well get this all over and done with early in the game. Really, she didn't mind exams, she just had other priorities. At least she dressed for her shift – one less thing to worry about later. Not that she worried about her job. If she could get a Vulcan to approve of her work she must have been doing alright. And she had taken that Lieutenant's job when she was a cadet. She didn't want to toot her own horn (okay, she sort of did) but she wasn't doing too bad for herself. And even though they were the youngest crew, the Enterprise had still gotten the five year mission. The first mission of its kind.
Her lovely thoughts on that subject were interrupted by a buffoon of a man lying next to her on the medical bed. Did he just make a bird sound? She slowly turned her head to look at the captain and arching an eyebrow, then slowly turned her head back toward the ceiling. Well, if this just didn't look all sorts of inappropriate she didn't know what did. She really hoped Spock had gotten his physical already and had no reason to suddenly appear in the Medical Bay. Then again, she doubted he would get jealous; that was and emotion, after all. Actually, lack of jealousy probably came in handy when one was around Kirk as often as Uhura had been. They all had sort of grown together somehow.
“I didn't skip it. I'm here now. I just have... priorities. Like work before physical health. I thought that would be something you'd appreciate.” Okay, so her priority had been organizingher closet, work was close to that, yes? She moved closer to the edge so Jim would have more room. Strange that her first thought wasn't to push him off the bed. They were friends now. Anyway, she could always push him off the bed later, just for laughs. “So that's the kind of example I'm setting. Work before health.” She smiled a little. Well, at least she wasn't bored anymore. “Anyway, if I skipped my exam, what does that say about yours? Or did you just ask around until you found out where I was, then came in here to harass me? Really, Jim, you should get over me you know.” Her voice was obviously teasing.
Nyota made a face at the ceiling. “Get ready for a long wait. I hope you cleared out your schedule. It looks like everything else is more interesting. You know I was mid-exam and the doctor just kind of... left?” She emphasised her frustration by hitting her head on the surface of the bed, then making an Ow face when she landed on her pony tail. Not a smooth move. “So what's new in the life of our oh so entertaining captain?” She asked.

Kirk grinned widely when Nyota turned to look at him, her face twisting into confusion. ”You looked lonely.” he said, as if that adequately explained his need to climb into her bed and squawk. ”You’re welcome.” ”I didn’t skip it I’m here now. I just have… priorities. Like work before health.” ”See, that’s what I told Bones! But then he told me that pacing around the Bridge wasn’t work and threatened to give me one of those shots that made my tongue swell up.” Which had been incredibly rude and unprofessional but effective because Kirk would prefer almost anything to not being able to talk for the rest of the day. It was one of the reasons he avoided the medical bay to begin with. Nothing in this room sat well with him. ”Or did you just ask around until you found out where I was, then came in here to harass me? Really, Jim, you should get over me you know.” ”But stalking you is one of my favorite hobbies.” he feigned genuine disappointment. He didn’t harass Nyota… in that way… anymore. Well, okay, he just pretended to. Which fortunately didn’t cause as many problems between them as Spock as it probably would have if the guy possessed the emotional range of a teaspoon. Nyota informed him that it was going to be a long wait and Kirk groaned dramatically. ”Don’t they know that we’re important people.. with important things to be doing?” Granted, they pretty much had nothing of importance to do until they got further into space however still, they should have been out there making sure everything was running smoothly. Not waiting around for a checkup they didn’t even need. ”Very smooth,” he commented when she hit to head back on the bed. He rolled onto his side so that he was facing her, propping his head up with his hand ”So what’s new in the life of our oh so entertaining captain?” ”Oh you know, just charting out our life changing mission to explore the galaxies.” Because that was their mission, because they were the best crew the Enterprice had ever seen. It was actually extremely exciting. ”Also I put sticky notes all over Spock’s room.”

Lieutenant Uhura was going to have a difficult time not laughing. She supposed his comment was valid. She probably did look lonely... or bored, which was close. Most people would not think that necessitated lying down on the same medical bed, but Jim Kirk was not most people. Sometimes Nyota didn't know if she meant that as a compliment or an insult, but whichever way it was taken it was true. They'd had a really rocky start, mostly because he tried to hit on her the first time they met and because he'd provoked Spock enough that the Vulcan actually lost his temper, but everything had worked out eventually. They were all friends now. Nyota didn't know if they were this close, but whether, she'd roll with it. The situation was pretty comical anyway. "Well it looks like you've solved the loneliness problem." she said, a smile in her voice.
"He should really consider selling those sprays on the ship. I bet there are other people who would take advantage of a nonspeaking Kirk." She laughed a little. "But pacing the bridge is your job." Was it really their fault that there wasn't much to do right now? The only thing Nyota had been able to do want contact Starfleet on a semi-regular basis for progress and broadcast ship wide announcements. And there weren't very many of those either. what she wouldn't give to be able to translate something. "If you plan on sharing a bed every time we have a check up, I'm going to ha e to insist that you request larger beds from Starfleet." She was very lucky they were all good friends, otherwise their situation would have looked weird...er.
Nyota laughed at the stalking comment, but moved onto more important things. Like how important they both were. "Yes, very important. We're probably more important than anyone else. Maybe even more important than Spock. But don't tell him I said that.
Very smooth.[/ I] She made a face at the comment but just rubbed her head. She nodded at the normal part, the part she already knew, and was about to make a sarcastic comment when he said that he panked Spock's room. "Wait. What? And you didn't include me? Has he noticed it yet?" She sat up a little still on her back, supporting her weight on her elbows. Sticky notes were brilliant. They were annoying enough that they might get under Spock's skin. Though she wondered if h would try to recruit her to help him clear them out. "I hope you took several pictures. And rigged a camera to go off when he sees it. And plan on showing them to me." It was probably the first rel prank on the ship so far. It was something that would set the tone for their trip. And a great tone it was. "I sincerely hope you plan on including me next time. I'm a little depressed that I missed it." But she smiled anyway. It was a good prank. "We should prank Bones too, while he's not around. Get him back for the shot threat he gave you. I was thinking we should hide his office computer."[/b]

Nyota was lucky she had a friend like Kirk. I mean Jim was the most entertaining person he knew so there was no way she could be bored with him around. ”He should really consider selling those sprays on the ship. I bet there are other people who would take advantage of a nonspeaking Kirk.” ”Don’t you dare say a word about that,” he replied, very seriously. Nobody needed to be throwing ideas like that out there. And nobody needed access to those.. he really didn’t even know what Bones had given him. ”But pacing the bridge is your job.” ”Thank you!” See Uhura knew what was up. ”I thought I was doing very good at it took— I had a rhythm going and everything.”
”If you plan on sharing a bed every time we have a check up, I’m going to have to insist that you request larger beds from Starfleet.” ”I’ll get right on that,” he assured, mock saluting. He’d totally do it though. I mean, if their check ups were going to take this long comfort was a definite priority. Nyota confirmed that they were the most important people on the ship and James laughed, nodding in agreement. ”Maybe even more important than Spock.” ”Oh, definitely… My lips are sealed.” Not that Spock didn’t already know Kirk thought he was brilliant. I mean… everyone kind of knew that Kirk thought he was brilliant. The guy wasn't known for being modest.
”Wait, what? And you didn’t include me? Has he noticed it yet?” ”I couldn’t find you!” He didn’t have time to go running around looking for Nyota because like.. who knew when Spock was going to decide it was an appropriate time to go back to his room, ”I don’t think so.” ”I hope you took several pictures. And rigged a camera to go off when he sees it. And plan on showing them to me.” ”I didn’t even think of that!” he sad about the camera. This was why he needed Uhara. The woman was a mastermind. ”I’ll show you as soon as we get out of here— if we ever get out of here.” Because, you know, the way things were going now it seemed like the two of them would be stuck in medical bay for the rest of their lives.
Nyota suggested pranking McCoy and Kirk grinned. The guy completely deserved it. ”I was thinking we should hide his office computer.” ”Yes! Oh! We can put it in Engineering.” Because he would never look there. Kirk sat up excitedly, getting another idea. ”Cat pictures.” They were going to be everywhere. When he got the computer back there wasn’t a file he’d be able to open without some obscenely cute animal staring him in the face.... This was why Kirk and Nyota were never to be left to their own devices.

Despite the fact that Jim sounded serious, Nyota laughed. “As much as Bones would probably enjoy the results, I think it's a little too ethical for that.” He might have liked to threaten him, and he probably had used them himself on the captain, but she really doubted he would sell hyposprays around the ship. He wasn't mean, but who really didn't get annoyed by Jim once in a while? Spock. Spock did not get annoyed. Well, that explained why the two were friends. Nyota didn't know what her excuse was. Jim annoyed her at times but usually she just went along with it. They had gotten passed the whole Kirk-taking-over-the-ship thing. There was something about confronting Nero that had brought them all together. “Well maybe taking time from the Bridge wouldn't be so bad if they got around to actually doing the exam.” She said, refering to the fact that Jim liked to pace on the Bridge. Truthfully, it was both funny and nervewrecking. But no one could really blame Kirk for wanting to be on the Bridge. Nyota wanted to be there at her station as well. Their trip was exciting... even if it was boring right now. They just needed to go a little further.
Lieutenant Uhura rolled her eyes. She really doubted that he would put in a request for larger beds. Then again, they really only had these routine exams once a year and before every mission. Of course, they were supposed to go to the Medical Bay whenever they were sick, but they hadn't been out long enough for Nyota to get sick. She mentally knocked on wood, hoping she hadn't jinxed herself. She smiled when Jim said he wouldn't tell Spock... not that Spock would have taken the comment seriously, or maybe he would have... the guy was as serious as anyone could be.
This was where their friendship got interesting. The mock flirting was fun and all, but they both had a distinct sense of humor and they complimented each other as friends. Kirk had already taken the opportunity to prank Spock, so their next step was to repay Bones for this oh so productive physical. “Engineering sounds like a great place. I think he'd think of coming to the Bridge first, and Engineering is pretty far from that.” She nodded, agreeing with him on the Engineering front. Besides that, the only other place she could think of was a science lab, and she didn't know that Spock could keep a secret – well, this kind of secret. They kept their relationship a secret for a while, though that was more from just not caring to tell anyone than deliberately holding it from anyone. But she thought he would think it was illogical to play a prank on their Chief Medical Officer. She turned her head quickly to look at Jim. “Cat pictures? What the hell are you going to do with cat pictures? Put them all over his walls?” She turned to look in the direction of Bones's office. “You know what? We should just completely rearrange the office.” And since Bones had left, why not take the time to do it now? She got up from the bed and headed in that direction.

”As much as Bones would probably enjoy the results, I think he’s a little too ethical for that.” Kirk smirked, shrugging. ”That or he knows if he does it I’ll retaliate with equal or greater force.” After all, it was only fair. And the crew really didn’t need their Captain, Chief Medical Officer, and anyone who happened to get in the way out of commission due to misuse of hyposprays. Someone sort of needed to be in vaguely in charge of the ship. ”Well maybe taking time from the Bridge wouldn’t be so bad if they got around to actually doing the exam.” ”Hey, and here I thought we were having a lovely bonding moment.” As much as Kirk didn’t want to be sitting around bored out of his mind, he wasn’t really opposed to doing it with Nyota. They had an entertaining friendship.. usually at the expense of everyone else around them. The best part was that they could totally blame McCoy for leaving them together, bored. Not the guy's finest moment. Kirk grinned proudly when Uhara mentioned that it was a great hiding place. It was far from where Bones was likely to look, and they would have a better time getting other people to play along. Though he figured someone was still going to spill eventually. But it would be fun while it lasted. ” What the hell are you going to do with cat pictures? Put them all over his walls?” ”No, on the computer” he said like it was obvious, which, it was if you’d spent the majority of your life on earth. ”Though that’s not a horrible idea,” I mean… they could find some childrens wallpaper and very good tape… ”You know what? We should just completely rearrange his office.” Kirk got up and followed Nyota, no further persuasion needed. He walked into the guy’s office and immediately started picking things up and moving them around, flipping them upside down. He sat in the guy’s char and spun around before opening up the drawer. ”Someone spends way too much time organizing. Drawers like this are exactly why he doesn't gotten laid.” Granted Spocks room looked like this and he still got it but that was really just far beyond the realm of Kirk's comprehension not to mention mental images that he had no desire to be getting.

Nyota laughed at Jim's comment. ”That or he knows if he does it I’ll retaliate with equal or greater force.” “Yeah, I'm sure he's terrified of you.” Sarcasm was one of Nyota's greater qualities, in her opinion. Of course, when it was time for business she was going to do her job, but off duty she was... well, Nyota. And yes, she was using her name as an adjective. Possibly the best adjective ever. In any case, Lt. Uhura did not think that Bones was all that afraid of Kirk. In fact, Bones (with the exception of Spock and herself, of course) was one of the few people who didn't just follow Jim's word for the heck of it. If she really thought about it, the three of them probably could have been charged with mutiny several times over by now. They did what they were told but they also weren't afraid to tell Jim that he was crazy as all hell.
“Oh, we're bonding, just not in a way that I'd call lovely.” She said with a smirk. It could have been worse, and if she was going to be stuck waiting to get an exam done, she supposed she would rather it be with Kirk than anyone else. Spock included. Jim would at least be all for having some sort of fun while they waited. Anyone else would probably just lie on another bed and stare at the ceiling like she had been doing. But not James T. Kirk. Jim had taken her bed and started acting like a bird. She didn't know what it said about her that she found this situation to be perfectly fine and normal. Probably that she was just as crazy as her captain. How did Spock ever put up with them?
As Uhura walked into McCoy's office, she started planning small things in her head. Where things could go and that sort of thing. But kitty cat wallpaper was out of the question. “I think we should probably leave the walls the way they are. He'd probably actually kill us if we changed that,” there was a laugh in her voice, even though she was serious about the wallpaper. Computers were one thing, but who knows how long it would take Bones to get actual wallpaper down. The last thing they needed was for some other official to come on board, get sick, and see kittens on the Medical Bay walls. She got to work moving things around though, because in her mind that was just harmless fun... okay, Bones would probably find it annoying, but it was harmless for them. She started moving things from one shelf to another, making them face against the wall and just silly things like that.
“Drawers like this are exactly why he doesn't gotten laid.” The lieutenant laughed. “How do you know he hasn't gotten any? He did have a wife before.” Not that that meant he got laid, but still. “At least he probably knows where to find his PADD if he needed it,” she teased, still moving things around the office – because let's face it, it was too fun to stop. She didn't mention that Spock's room was way more organized than McCoy's, like, annoyingly so. Then again, Nyota had never really been into sharing her Spock stories. She wasn't cruel. Though she found Spock annoyingly logical, she respected him enough to not try and totally embarrass him. She didn't mind venting about Spock's little tics, but she wasn't going to go into sex talk about him with anyone. That would just be awkward. “Anyway, for all you know, he's more sexually active than you. Have you ever really asked?” She was still joking, but she wouldn't be incredibly surprised if Jim had asked Bones before.

”Yeah, I’m sure he’s terrified of you.” ”Well obviously. Who wouldn’t be?” James joked. I mean, Kirk was a pretty intimidating guy when he wanted to be. And Bones was scared of many irrational things which Kirk was most definitely not moral enough to refrain from using against him. All in the name of character building, of course. It was very important that his crew was prepared for anything. Literally, anything. There were in space. Weird shit happened.”Oh, we’re bonding, just not in a way that I’d call lovely.” ”And she’s so rude,” he drew out slowly, a fake look of hurt on his face. Nyota loved him. Not in the same way that she loved Spock, obviously, but there was an undeniable attraction that… well, Kirk’s inflated ego could very well have been imagining but it was no secret Nyota enjoyed his company. If she didn’t, he would have undoubtedly long since been thrown off her bed.
And they wouldn’t be terrorizing their mutual friend by rearranging (okay, un-arranging is probably a more accurate word) his office. ”How do you know he hasn’t gotten any? He did have a wife before.” ”Yeah, Bones’s wife. What do you think they did in their free time?” Because… it probably wasn’t sex, but maybe that was just James’s theory. ”At least he probably knows where to find his PADD if he needed it.” ”Pfttt, PADDS. I remember everything up here.” He was beyond technology. (Actually, he just never remembered where he left his.) He spun around in the chair again, looking up at Nyota when she implied that Bones could have had a better sex life than him ”Have you ever really asked?” He laughed, joking back instantaneously. ”Of course, what do you think guys talk about when we have sleepovers?”

“I'm not rude, I'm just honest. But you should appreciate that in an officer. Or at least me anyway. I'd totally be okay if I was the only one who was allowed to stand up to you.” Because she did – on various occasions – question his decisions in no quiet manner. In the not so distant past (seriously, like two years ago) she'd decided that he'd all but taken the USS Enterprise by force from Spock, and well since she was dating the Vulcan and because she was more than a little irked at having a reckless captain, she'd laced almost every word to him heavily with sarcasm. She was definitely one to let her opinion be known. She was actually pretty surprised that it hadn't gotten her into any trouble yet. Then again, the people she stood up to were friends... well, now they were friends. They kind of had to still like her.
”Yeah, Bones’s wife. What do you think they did in their free time?” “I imagine they had sex at some point. Bones is pretty moral but he's a guy. I'm sure they were hitting it off even before the wedding. And I think it's still tradition to do it after the wedding too. But I could be wrong, you know, having never been married.” She turned to him and tilted her head. “Maybe you would know. You've probably been to Vegas and had some crazy nights right? You seem like the type.” She was still very obviously teasing, despite the fact that Jim Kirk did have a reputation with the females.
And then he said it. What did she think they did at sleepovers? The first thought that popped into her head was wait, guys have sleepovers?. They probably didn't. He was probably trying to just be clever. But the second thought, and it very quickly followed the first, was Wait, he' friends with Spock... “Please tell me you haven't convinced Spock that it's part of manly bonding to tell sex stories.” And there with that, there was no more joke left in her look.

”I’m not rude, I’m just honest. But you should appreciate that in an officer. Or at least me anyway.” James smirked. ”Just you,” he agreed, no one else could stand up to him. Nyota would do it whether he told her to or not so he figured it would just be easier to go along with it. Then he could take credit later when it worked to his advantage. ”And you can’t tell anyone.” Obviously. If people knew then… No. Wasn’t gonna happen. And then they were talking about Bones’s sex life. ”I’m sure they were hitting it off even before the wedding. And I think it’s still tradition to do it after the wedding too.” ”You’re supposed to do it after the wedding.” he informed, laughing. Before was the eh-not-really-PC-but-everyone-did-it-anyway. Well, Kirk did it anyway. And he was pretty sure Nyota had done it. And who else mattered? Exactly. ”Maybe you would know. You’ve probably been to Vegas and had some crazy nights, right? You seem like the type.” He scoffed. ”I’ve never been married.” Sex, yes. Marriage, no. There was far too much commitment involved with that for him. Even the crazy drunk Vegas type of weddings. That was for people who were the opposite of him. So Nyota and Spock. ”Please tell me you haven’t convinced Spock that it’s part of manly bonding to tell sex stories.” Kirk grinned and held up a finger. ”Uh uh uh. Seeing as you have a lack of male genitalia discussing the code of manly bonding would be a strict violation and so that information is going to remain a secret.” He couldn’t tell her. She had to understand that. And what Kirk and Spock discussed was purely in the Vulcan’s best interests.

back in the atmosphere
with drops of jupiter in her hair
Nyota held back a smile. Of course she could talk back to Jim. It was one of her better traits. And she'd done it since the day she'd met him, which seemed like forever ago. It was strange how facing death and all that could bring people together. She'd all but hated Kirk when he took over the Enterprise when Spock had, well, lost it (both the ship and his emotional state). She imagined most people had had that reaction – maybe not Bones, but you know, other people. Normal people. Because James T. Kirk was a cocky, egotistic, drunk of a man (okay, perhaps not that extreme, but he did frequent bars and get beat up a lot) who had taken over their ship. Obviously Captain Admiral Pike had seen something in him that no one else had at the time. But Lieutenant Uhura saw it now. He was a genuinely good guy, despite his reputation for making rash decisions and sleeping with just about anything classified as female. “Damn right I can stand up to you. And I think the entire ship already knows.” Because she'd been incredibly sarcastic until he actually started acting like a captain.
Of course Jim had never been married. She did think he was the type to get too drunk and not remember, but he had some serious commitment issues. “One of these days you're going to meet someone that you can't let go of. And I'm going to tease you endlessly about it.” She turned all of McCoy's pictures around so they were facing the wall. What few pictures he had in his office. She was sure that he had people he cared about, but who the hell were they? Aside from herself and Kirk, anyway. And maybe Spock... and Scotty... She noticed, with a twinge of jealousy, that she wasn't in any of these pictures. “We're really going to have to expand Bones's picture collection. He doesn't have one of either of us. I think we should take that as an insult.”
If Kirk thought she was going to leave this alone and just accept that he wouldn't tell her what he talked about with Spock, he had another thing coming. “I'm going to kill both of you, you know that right? In your sleep or something.” She pushed the desk with a screech just a couple of inches to the left. Just enough to mess with bones. “You should really consider what my job is, you know. I do control the ships communications systems. Would you really want me to find out what you talk about that way?” So she never eavesdropped because that was a little too unprofessional. But it probably would have been worth it to hear what Jim and Spock talked about.

it's logic, spock
i thought you'd like that.
”Damn right I can stand up to you. And I think the entire ship already knows.” ”What? Did you say something?” Kirk dismissed with a smirk. Yeah, everyone knew Nyota was sarcastic. No, Kirk wasn’t going to let her win. Glad that was cleared up. ”One of these days you’re going to meet someone that you can’t let go of. And I’m going to tease you endlessly about it.” ”It’s like you don’t even know me.” Kirk admonished, wrinkling his nose at the very idea. When Nyota started moving the pictures around, he snuck glances at them, very quickly coming ot the same conclusion. ”He doesn’t have one of either of us. I think we should take that as an insult.” ”Oh most definitely. That needs to change, now.” I mean, they were friends. Not to mention looking at attracting people increased productivity. Really. Theres a statistic for that. I just made it up.
”I’m going to kill both of you, you know that right? In your sleep or something.” ”Don’t be selfish Nyota— someone needs to run the ship.” She couldn’t kill him and Spock. They were important. Not to mention, her only friends. ”Besides, then you’d get bored. And revival is very complicated.” And kind of impossible. He was really just keeping her from contemplating something which she would surely regret. Then she threatened to find out by snooping through the communication system on the ship and Kirk smirked. ”Would you really want me to find out what you talk about that way?” ”You’d never do it. You’re too moral.” She was always giving him lectured about things and he totally wasn’t going to fall for the bluff. He opened one of Bones’s drawers and found a candy bar. ”Want some?”
