No one likes rules, but we need them because the site might fall apart if we didn't have them. So let's get this over with, shall we?
REGISTRATION...
--You may register with whatever name you wish, but once you figure out which character you're going to play (even if it's an original character), you need to change your display name to the first and last name with proper capitalization. You may also use the character's middle name, but you do not have to. Accepted display names look like these: James Kirk, James T. Kirk, James Tiberius Kirk. --Please try to post your application in the correct board. You may put something like "WIP" in the title if you are not done with your application. It is entirely okay to put up a work in progress as long as you finish it within a decent amount of time. --Before you register, make sure you can follow our rules. --If you plan on applying for a canon list, reserve it. This does not mean that you are guaranteed that canon. It just lets the staff and other members (and potential members) know that you want that character. There may be more than one app up for the same character. If this happens, once one application is done, the other member has three days to complete their application before the staff review the first one. --If you have questions, ask. It's okay, we won't bite. Unless we're hungry, of course. --Please be somewhat realistic when making your characters. No Mary/Gary Sues and if the staff feel like your app is leaning too much toward the dramatic, it may be denied. --Do not copy your profile from Wiki. I don't care if you use it as a reference, but don't copy and paste it. Make the character your own. I don't care if you use a previous app, but if I find out you stole your application from Wiki or anyone else, the application will not be accepted. If I find out after you've already been accepted, you will lose your character. If the behavior continues, you will be banned.
ROLEPLAYING...
--Our site is rated "use some common sense." Proboards allows anyone 13 and older to join a forum. So use your best judgement. Fade to black of things get a little saucy and take that specific part of your thread somewhere else. Putting a disclaimer in your title or at the beginning of a thread is also a good idea if you are unsure of the content. --We have a short word count of 200 words (though we would love to see more). This ensures that we will be able to take members from almost any literacy level. We do ask that you use proper grammar to the best of your ability. Also, the application will ask for a history with a higher word count, because almost no one's life can be summed up in 200 words or less. If you need help with grammar or ideas on making your posts longer, feel free to ask a staff member. More literate members may also be willing to help. --Posts are to be made in third person unless they are in something like a journal. This means posts should be "James said" "He said." Not "I said." --This is a Star Trek RPG. If you've seen the rebooted series, you know there is some violence and such involved. Please don't go overboard on it. --No God-Modding, Power-playing, or whatever it is you kids are calling it these days. If you must move someone else's character to further the thread, please ask them. If you feel like your character has been god-modded, please PM a staff member.
GRAPHICS...
--Large avatars are 250x450px and can be found in the "personal" section of your edit profile. --Small avatars (The square one) is 150x150px, but should resize at any px as long as it's square. --Signatures can be any height as long as they aren't obnoxious, and can not be any larger than 500px in width.
CBOX...
--The cboxes are here for convenience. Do not abuse them. --No advertising in the cboxes. This includes putting a link to your site in the email/url place. --Do not IC in the OC cbox.
GENERAL...
--Be respectful. --Have fun.
